some top quality fully-serviced gear through us. X-Country
biking takes you across the landscape through sometimes
challenging terrain or simply to some lovely picnic
spots for some light cruising for a relaxing time and
is whilst more aerobic can be as much fun as hard-core
downhill mountain biking.

PERISHER PIPERS
CREEK TRAIL - 14 kms return
Perisher Blue has opened the service trails for X-Country
Biking. Some of the most accessible, fun and reasonably
graded trails on offer! Meet us at Perisher Blue carpark
with your bike or, we’ll bring the bikes and you
bring the sense of adventure. The cool mountain air
and open trails will make the Perisher to Smiggins Holes
- Pipers Creek track fun and rewarding. Return via Kosciuszko
Road to Perisher or arrange pick up at Smiggins. Reverse
the journey and ride the dirt ride back to Smiggins
from Wragges Creek..
SMIGGINS TO ISLAND BEND TRAILS - 16 kms
The summer link road from Smiggins Holes to Guthega
Road traverses the Perisher Range to take you to the
Snowy River Valley. This is a relatively easy ride on
dirt road for around 9 ks before descending along the
Guthega Road to arrive at the Island Bend camping ground
for a picnic by the Snowy River. Meet at Smiggins Holes
carpark. For a truly extended day after lunch continue
on the dirt road to the service trail by the Snowy River
to Waste Point. Add another 15 kms.
ISLAND BEND TRAILS - 5 kms
For that perfect family picnic - bring your bikes or
hire from us - meet at Island Bend off the Guthega Road.
Ride the dirt tracks around the Island Bend camping
ground. See kangaroos grazing on the old airstrip, walk
or ride a steep descent to the Snowy River or take a
side track to an accessible open flood plain and dip
your toes in the river. Picnic at one of the many shaded
Island Bend spots during the oh-so-hot summers! Have
a dip in the Snowy on us!
MUNYANG TO GEEHI VIA SCHLINK PASS - 30 kms
Much tougher for the tough! A steep ascent from the
Snowy River at Munyang Power Station to Schlink Pass
then fast descent to the Geehi River. Ride to Geehi
Dam for pickup or for the truly ambitious add another
22 ks of dirt road and a bit of tar (3.6ks) on the Alpine
Way back to Swampy Plain picnic grounds. A full day!
Best in cooler weather - late autumn or early spring.
TOM GROGGIN PICNIC TRAILS (Cooler months best
Autumn & Spring)
The Tom Groggin Camping ground is filled with life -
kangaroos and birds and adjacent to the unspoilt Murray
River. Relax for a few hours and cruise around the camping
ground or hit the Davies Plain trail for some more challenging
riding - return back to base for a cooling swim in the
Murray River.
SWAMPY PLAINS TRAILS (Cooler months best Autumn
& Spring)
Something really different and fun! If you like river
rides with a little uphill riding and a cruisy return
come with us on the Swampy Plain trails across the Victorian
border! Spend the day out and about with a picnic lunch
- cross the river on your bike, extend yourself up the
Geehi Walls track alternatively cut back for a lateral
reproach to the Geehi Flats camp ground. About 44 ks
along the Alpine Way from Thredbo - a good full day
trip or spend the night by the river. First come best
spot. Plenty to do. Toilets on site. No open fires during
the fire season.
