Doug is a seasoned ski tourer working full time in the Kosciuszko National Park with over 25 years experience backcountry skiing & guiding on the Main Range. His alpine pursuits have taken him to Russia, Switzerland, Italy, France, Canada, USA, Alaska, New Zealand, India, Kashmir, Japan and Tasmania.
He has been a sponsored backcountry athlete & gear tester for Mont Adventure Equipment since 1994 & has skied for K2, G3, Fritschi Australia since 1995. During the past 14 winters he has worked as a Professional Ski Patroller & the summers as Search & Rescue & a Field Officer for the National Parks & Wildlife Service. Doug is also the Back Country Editor for ‘the SKI mag’ & is happy to discuss gear options to get you in the right equipment. Working in Kosi as a Guide & an Outdoor Educator he has developed an in depth knowledge of not only the terrain but also the natural & cultural history of Kosi.
