Jane is an APSI Level 3 Nordic Instructor.
She discovered her love of the mountains
and the back country while studying at Monash University, Victoria in 1986. She started ski touring and telemarking
at this time, and since, has had extensive experience back country skiing in the Victorian and NSW mountains.
The quest for the perfect telemark turn led her to explore major ski resorts in Australia and overseas, in New
Zealand, USA, Canada, Japan and Europe. Jane began cross-country track skiing in 1996 and competed in her first
xc ski race in the Paddy Pallin 25km race in Perisher, in that same year. She has also successfully competed in
the Kangaroo Hoppet 42km free-style race, and the Australian and NSW Championships for many years. At international
xc ski competitions, Jane has gained podium positions in various Loppet skating races in Europe and has participated
successfully in four Masters World Cups in Canada, Germany, Italy and recently in Switzerland gaining a personal
best result of 4th place in the 30km Skating race.
As well as her active participation in ski touring, xc skiing, xc mountain biking and road biking, Jane Scheer holds
a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Nutrition and majored in Sports Nutrition. In this role, Jane worked for the South
East Regional Academy of Sport (SERAS) as their Nutrition Consultant to Cross Country and Alpine skiing athletes
amongst many other sports. She provided nutrition advice to members of the Australian Cross Country Ski Team and
athletes training for and competing in endurance and ultra-endurance races such as the Iron-Man Triathlon.
Jane is dedicated to providing a fun, memorable and productive xc ski lesson in either the Classic or Skating
