Mike Law-Smith started climbing whilst he was a student at All Saints College in Bathurst. Upon leaving school he moved to Canberra where he quickly established himself at the cutting-edge of Australian climbing. His ‘necky’ slab-climbs intimidated most climbers whereas Mike put up first ascents on a series of truly exposed multi-pitch climbs later retro-bolting some of the climbs so that more people could enjoy the challenge. For the last 30 years Mike has been an active member of the Australian climbing scene and continues to climb regularly. If you have been fortunate to climb with Mike you will find him a most considerate climbing partner and overall a highly accomplished, experienced and solid climber at whatever grade he choses to tackle. Mike’s easy going disposition combined with his competence as a rock climber and awesome strength makes him the perfect guide. Mike is also an experienced skier, ski mountaineer and ice climber and has enjoyed mountaineering in New Zealand and the Himalayas. K7 Adventures are very pleased to have Mike Law-Smith on the team.
