| Trish
first came to the Snowy Mountains in 1970, having spent
her formative years on a large cattle station in North
West Queensland. The cool green landscape - a stark
contrast to the hot, dry and flat outback - soon seduced
Trish and it was not long before fully immersed herself
in the mountains and became addicted to skiing, climbing
and walking. Trish first started conducting guided cross
country ski trips out of Thredbo in 1974. This was followed
by one to ten day trips through the back country as
well as wilderness expeditions in New Zealand, Scotland,
Switzerland, Austria, Thailand and Laos and recently,
a trip to the outer reaches of Mongolia, climbing mountains
on the Siberian border. As well as her own expeditions
Trish especially loves to guide seniors - a group she
feels is open to slowing down and 'appreciating the
grandeur of small things'. Along with skiing and climbing,
Trish's special passions are horses, windsurfing and
snow shoeing. She has a long and impressive history
and background with the mountains including constructing
her unique snow caves complete with stained glass windows
for that very special back country experience.
