BackYour Guides - Warren Feakes

Warren is a passionate Cross Country skier having entered the sport at age 40 when in the Defence Forces. He started as a ‘bushwalker on snow’ but soon found racing to be his passion. Together with his wife Debbie, he completed the World Loppet Series twice (14 ultra marathon ski races in 14 countries) and is a Double World Loppet Gold Medallist. He was also a ski racer & biathlon competitor in the Defence Forces and it was there he started instructing. Warren is now on the Executive Board of the peak ski instructors’ body, the Australian Professional Snowsport Instructors Inc, (APSI) which covers all skiing disciplines including adaptive (disabled). He is the Nordic Technical Director and Senior Trainer and Examiner in the APSI and holds an International Ski Instructors rating in Nordic and Telemark disciplines. Warren is also The National Director for Australia in the World Masters Cross Country Skiing Association and competes overseas annually, for Australia, at the Masters World Championships. Warren is particularly interested in the biomechanics of cross country skiing and matching technique to the wide variety of shapes, sizes and ages of those wishing to enjoy this sport to the fullest.
