| Warren
is a passionate Cross Country skier having entered the
sport at age 40 when in the Defence Forces. He started
as a ‘bushwalker on snow’ but soon found
racing to be his passion. Together with his wife Debbie,
he completed the World Loppet Series twice (14 ultra
marathon ski races in 14 countries) and is a Double
World Loppet Gold Medallist. He was also a ski racer
& biathlon competitor in the Defence Forces and
it was there he started instructing. Warren is now on
the Executive Board of the peak ski instructors’
body, the Australian Professional Snowsport Instructors
Inc, (APSI) which covers all skiing disciplines including
adaptive (disabled). He is the Nordic Technical Director
and Senior Trainer and Examiner in the APSI and holds
an International Ski Instructors rating in Nordic and
Telemark disciplines. Warren is also The National Director
for Australia in the World Masters Cross Country Skiing
Association and competes overseas annually, for Australia,
at the Masters World Championships. Warren is particularly
interested in the biomechanics of cross country skiing
and matching technique to the wide variety of shapes,
sizes and ages of those wishing to enjoy this sport
to the fullest.
