Schools Program

The Snowy Mountains is a fantastic space for young people to explore and experience nature first hand. At K7 Adventures, we encourage teachers and students to take time out to safely enjoy the outdoors with enough freedom to understand nature values. The concept of 'nature is nurture' is well known in the Outdoor Recreation sector. Increasingly, educationalists understand the importance of a 'connection with nature' as the key to life-long well being and enhanced educational outcomes. We offer you that opportunity through our range of outdoor activities, tours and environmental appreciation and interpretation programs.

CLIMBING AND ABSEILING WHITE ROCKS, JINDABYNE ROCK, EAGLE ROCK THREDBO
Have fun in a safe environment with the professionals! Join us to explore natural rock the right way and experience the freedom of abseiling in outdoor settings. For advanced rock climbers - talk to us about our progressive climbing course that takes you to a range of crags and ultimately, camping and climbing at Nowra on lead sports climbs. For the strong at heart - talk to Lindsay about bouldering camps.

MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE WALKS
Come and climb Mt Kosciuszko with K7 Adventures. A great journey on almost any day of the year - whether in Term I when the sun still rises high in the sky or during Term II as the weather systems change and the days are shorter. Term III is by snow shoe and Term IV ski touring, snow shoeing or later in the term, walking across snowdrifts to the summit. From shorter half day walks, K7 will build an interesting program of walks including our Multi Day Ten Peaks and Duke of Edinburgh Program. Mix up Mt Adventure Walks with extra activities - climbing and abseiling or x country mt bike rides! Take a little time out and enjoy Alpine Photographer with our expert Guide Mike Edmondson. Learn the secrets of light in the alpine setting.

SNOW SHOEING, SNOW CRAFT AND SNOW SURVIVAL
Young people love the sense of being able to build a shelter in the snow and learn the basics of snow survival. These skills will be useful whenever you visit the 'cold country'. Combine Snow Shoeing with Snow Craft, basic navigation skills and finish the day off with time on the Perisher Tube Park for a great day on the snow.

SKI TOURING
This trip is another winner with everyone! Even for first time skiers - learn to ski in a few hours on flexible and comfortable equipment. By the afternoon, skiers will be out on the Perisher Nordic Trails or in September and early October, exploring from the top of the Kosciuszko Thredbo Chairlift. The 'winter wonderland' opens up for ski tourers. Ski Touring is a great day out also for intermediate alpine skiers and boarders when we head out to Mt Kosciuszko on skis or snowshoes for boarders. Great trip in the spring.
