BackKosciuszko Winter Camping
an Introduction to Snow Camping

Learn Snow Craft & Alpine Survival Skills & Climb Mount Kosciuszko.
With ample time for watching or photographing sunset & sunrise from our scenic camp.

Snowshoes are ideal for first timers.

Alpine touring Skis or Telemark Skis for Intermediate to advanced skiers, who have used the equipment on day trips with Mike first.

Enjoy three days out camp overnight in the snow and experience the wild beauty of the winter alpine environment Learn snow survival course , where and how to set up camp, build a snow shelter (conditions permitting) and stay safe.

After watching the sunset high above the resorts, cook a hot meal on a portable stove and settle down for the night in your cosy four season sleeping bag. You will learn essential skills for the wilderness: weather, navigation, group management, hydration and how to prevent hypothermia. Refine your skills as you plan half day snow shoe trips on the first day, then after a spectacular sunrise on the second day, climb Mt Kosciuszko!

Group sizes are small - no more than 5 people. This ensures that Mike can spend time with each of you, focusing on your individual needs, interests, and skill levels. We highly recommend spending three days and two nights on a snow camping tour to learn how to camp in the alpine setting and in a relaxed way.

Checkout this testimonial by Altaaf: Altaaf joined me on a three day snow camping adventure over winter. We experienced amazing sunsets and sunrises, summated Mt Kosciuszko and learnt snow survival skills. See his great photographs here - http://www.altaafkhan.com/snow-camping
