Mike Edmondson | Mountain Guide & Photographer

Award-Winning Alpine Photographer | Backcountry Guide

Mike has been guiding and photographing in Kosciuszko National Park for over 35 years. As an award-winning landscape photographer specialising in Australian alpine imagery, he combines professional photography expertise with extensive backcountry guiding experience.

Based in Jindabyne, Mike has spent most of his life exploring the Snowy Mountains. His camera accompanies him on every expedition — from snow camping trips to Ten Peaks walks — allowing him to capture the unique character of the Australian Alps and share it with others.

Mike led the first lodge-based and camping Ten Peaks walks, guiding clients to Australia's ten highest mountains. He specialises in multi-day snow camping adventures, photography expeditions, and scenic walks to locations like Aries Tors, heritage mountain huts, and the Sentinel. He's also a qualified cross-country ski instructor and leads backcountry ski tours for all levels.

Whether guiding photographers seeking the perfect alpine light at dawn and dusk, outdoor enthusiasts experiencing snow camping for the first time, or experienced backcountry skiers, Mike brings both technical knowledge and a deep passion for the mountains to every trip.
